We are delighted to announce the Sustainable Built Environment (SBE) Regional Conference 2019 as a platform for sharing research and innovation between researchers and practitioners of the construction sector. The focus relies on Resilient Built Environment for Sustainable Mediterranean Countries.


The international conference, belonging to the Sustainable Built Environment (SBE) series of conferences, is organized by Politecnico di Milano with four international organizations:

We welcome submissions of high-quality research. Received abstracts were reviewed anonymously and authors were notified of the decision by December 15, 2018. After abstract acceptance, full papers had to be submitted following the instructions listed in the CALL FOR PAPERS section no later than February 28, 2019 (then extended to March 10, 2019). Call for papers is now closed.



Accepted papers will be published in IOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science. The content published in IOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science will be submitted for indexation in all major databases, including Scopus and WoS.

Please note that due to organizing reasons registration and payment deadline for presenting authors was 4 June 2019.

For other conference partecipants, the final deadline for registration was 31 July 2019 while the early bird discount was available by 30 June 2019.

On the occasion of the International Sustainable Built Environment Conference SBE 2019“Resilient Built Environment for Sustainable Mediterranean Countries”, Politecnico di Milano organises an award for the best Master and Doctoral thesis works about the conference topics. The thesis works can deal with topics including, but not limited to, new buildings/systems andcomponents, urban development, research on innovative construction materials, renovation,modernization and refurbishment of existing buildings and districts, and the integration of newtechnologies to improve the sustainability of buildings, including those related to modelling ofperformances, process management and maintenance.

Registration fee includes the following:

- Two papers' submission*;

- Access to conference sessions;

- Buffet lunch and coffe break on 4 and 5 September 2019;

- Access right to the proceedings.


*: Please note that it is necessary to have paid registration fee in order to get the paper published. One paid registration covers a maximum of two published papers. No exceptions.
